Santa On The Steam Train

The day after the panto we told Ebi-kun we were going shoe shopping, he really wasn't happy as shoe shopping is his least favourite activity. We were in fact headed to the Churnet Valley Railway to go on a steam train. Ebi-kun took all these photos with his new camera....

Nanna Fran clowning around! This guy was on the platform keeping the kids entertained before the train arrived.

And who was on the train? Santa! He was great and spent a good 5 - 10 minutes with each family, all the kids got a present too.

The kids got juice and chocolate and the adults got mince pies and a glass of sherry - cheers!

You have to book well in advance to get seats, the train before us was packed and the train that came in after looked like is would be too. The train goes through the valley then stops at one of the stations but you have to stay on and then you come back again. We were lucky with the weather since it has mainly been raining since we have been here, such a contrast to last time.

After all the steam train adventuring we headed to my moms local pub for lunch, roast beef and Yorkshire puds, yum! This was the child size portion and was massive, I didn't manage to make it through mine.
