We like to break camp early and head out before the traffic gets bad and then stop off somewhere on the way home. This time we decided to stop at the Gunma Prefecture Natural History Museum. We have been before a couple of years ago so Ebi-kun doesn't really remember it.
The museum is well done, the have a reconstruction of a dino dig and you stand on glass above it so you can see up close what it is like. There are quite a lot of things that you are allowed to touch and numerous computer quizzes dotted around the place. The Darwin room is cool, he is an animated puppet and talks about his work whilst sat in his office, scares the beejeebers out of people when he first starts talking. The only downside is that the museum has no food available, so if you plan to go either take something with you or eat before you get there.
It was really hot and there was NO one in the park but Ebi-kun wanted to have a go on the big slide, I found a picture of him on it last time too...
He then wanted to roll down the hill but gave up and decided running was better, what is it with kids being able to run around even if it is roasting hot?
Then we jumped back in the car only to get stuck in traffic due to an accident so we got back a bit later than planned. A fun weekend but it always takes me all week to catch up!
It is Ebi-kun's last day of school today, tomorrow summer holidays start proper! I need to make sure he has plenty to keep him busy when I am working, I feel some big juicy projects coming on!
wow seems like so much fun! :) kids really do have so many interesting options in japan!
