Happy Birthday to ME!

Alas, today I am no longer forty but IN MY forties, I think that is more depressing that hitting the big 40. Well, I will be taking time off from Chritsmassy stuff to celebrate the the boys in my life, hubby has organised a not-such-a-surprise (since he told me about it) glass blowing class, very exciting and a day of not cooking sounds doubly good to me. Not that I don't like cooking but I am happy to have a break.

It has been an odd year, started off on a high getting asked to be a regular contributor in certain UK national magazine had my first art show lined up then wham, bam earthquake hits and everything goes to pot. It took me a long time to get back on track, Art Show was cancelled and the magazine got taken over by another company, I had a hell of a job getting paid and ended up refusing to take on any more commissions until I got paid - basically shooting myself in the foot. So, now it is time to sit down and re-evaluate where I am going, where I want to be and how the heck I am going to get there.

And now, I would like you to raise a cup of whatever you have handy and wish all those Christmas babies a Happy Birthday! Everyone I know who has a birthday somewhere between now and the start of January always complains that their special day doesn't get the attention it deserves because everyone is busy with holiday stuff and don't get me started on joint presents! So, if you are having a birthday in the next couple of weeks, have a good one!

Right, I will be back later to announce the winner of the giveaway, you still have time to enter, go on, quick.... *here*

  4. Happy Birthday! I was very upset when I turned 40, but now at (aaahhh!!!)57, 58 in a week, I look back on those days fondly...but I'm still having fun in my 50s too! So have a wonderful decade, I know you'll enjoy it!

  5. Happy Birthday! Glad you took time to celebrate it! My husband's bday is Dec. 26th! I think that is pretty much the worst day possible! Luckily he almost always goes skiing with his brother on this day (well, he did when we lived here) and the tradition will continue this year. But it is always a stretch to make a cake when we're all so fried from xmas day over indulgence!
