A sad day...

I am sure many of you have heard about the passing of Steve Jobs yesterday and I wonder how many heard about the news whilst using a piece of Apple equipment? I was.
I first used a Mac at uni, my course was a mix of graphics, film and electronics, it took me a while to get used to it because we used PC's (and SUN machines too - do they still exist?) but by the time I graduated I was hooked. I have never owned a PC, I am a mac girl through and through.

I love what Steve Jobs stood for, his attitude towards life, his determination and ability to think outside the box and the fact that he thought machines should be beautiful too. Our world is a different place due to his innovation and I hope the Apple stick with Steve's way of thinking in the future.

This is a speech Steve made at a commencement ceremony at Stanford University, it is well worth watching, he has some great messages to share. May he now rest in peace, he will be sorely missed.

  1. I often listen to that speech -- very inspiring! The world has lost a very creative soul and shrewd businessman.

  4. I feel like I've lost a dear friend even though I never met him. I love what he stood for and what he achieved. I love aht he made, an apple is not a fruit anymore to most of us and I am thankful for him for making it possible to carry all my favorite songs with me, in my pocket, whereever I go. I hope his team carries on what he started so geniously and we'll continue to benefit from them.
