I needed to go to the post box but Ebi-kun was pulling his face, not his favourite job! It's not like it is miles away, a 10 minute walk. Anyway, I decided to jazz it up and made the magic compass. It is a piece of card, sectioned into 8 with instructions in each section, then a spinner made from a card arrow and a brad. Easy.
The rules, spin the arrow and do as it says, for left.right and straight, you must walk in this direction until you reach the next junction. We did actually manage to make it to the post box, took a bit longer than normal but coming home took forever - the best part of an hour! good fun though and you can adapt the instructions to where you live. Free fun - can't shake a stick at that.
I have nearly finished project 2, bit of hand sewing to finish it off...
What a cute idea. I love it!
ReplyDeleteOMG that's awesome. I think If I did it down here we'd end up at the next town over before getting to another junction. Could possibly take two weeks to get to the post box :)
ReplyDeleteI did think about going on the bike but then had visions of me ending up in Osaka! Would help shed a pound or two though :o)
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's an awesome idea but I would have been so afraid of how long and how far it might take us.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea! What a great way to jazz up a walk or any mundane errand. Could even do it in the car - but much more fun when you're out for a stroll. We're definitely gonna do this! Also a great way to practice rights and lefts for those learning.
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to link to this post in our new party today - "It's Playtime"
