Had a bit of a panic yesterday hearing that the radiation levels in Saitama were 40 times higher than normal. Of course I had no idea what that meant so I spent ages trying to get my head around it. Turns out it was nothing to panic about, concerned yes, but not panic. 40 times the normal is less than a tooth x-ray.
The most difficult thing is getting level headed sensible advice and information.
Anyway, we have decided to go to the in-laws down in Wakayama for a few days, hubby is coming too and then we will decide what to do depending on how the situation evolves. Part of the reason for leaving is to put moms mind at rest, she is due to have an operation on Thursday and doesn't need the extra stress and worry over us, at least we will be in a safer area.
I have had a lot of emails, appologies on not getting back to you, we are scheduled for a blackout this morning so I am trying to let those who need to know first, I am sure you understand.
I will have net access at the other end so I will keep you updated. If you have any questions about the auction, please take a read through this post, if you still need help can you write the question in the comments section, that would help me out a bit, thanks.
Glad u r safe!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new reader on your blog. I'm glad you are safe and moving to an even safer location.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels to Wakayama and I'm glad your mum will now be able to concentrate on her operation and not be stressing over radiation levels for you.

Phew. Thank goodness the level isn't that bad. It sounded creepy over the news. Do take care!!

I'm very glad to hear that you're leaving the area. Please stay safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of Japan - and especially the volunteers at the power plants.
ReplyDeleteI do have a question about the auction. If I choose to do a raffle, is there any way to tell if someone has donated say, $10, then entered every raffle using the same tracking number? I'm trying to figure out a way to keep that from happening.
