Japan Quake Auction Appeal

Well, I can't just sit here and do nothing, there is so much devastation, the death toll is continuing to get higher and just looking at the images it is obvious that there will be a lot of clean up ahead.
So, I have decided to run an auction and would be honoured if you could get involved.
I am planning to run it in the same way as the QLD flood appeal auction with each blogger holding an auction or raffle on their own blog. You can donate anything you like to the auction/raffle but please only donate something that you are willing to post worldwide.
The money will be donated to Global Giving once you have donated you will be sent a receipt number this will act as your raffle number, for those who win an auction you will need to send proof of donation to the person whom win from.

On Friday 18th March, I will have a master list of bloggers who will be running auctions/raffles from their blogs. You will have one week to bid on these auctions, and hopefully be the lucky winner of these great products. Auctions will be open for 1 week, and will close on Saturday 26th March. Now due to time zones, I suggest you post on your blog the time your auction will close AND the time zone you are in.

What can you do?

If you have a blog you can hold an auction/raffle, it is very straight forward.
If you are interested then please read THIS POST - due to enforced blackouts I can't answer all the emails so please read the post carefully, thanks.

You can also help by bidding or buying raffle tickets, not only might you win something great but you are helping people in need. I will do a post with a step by step guide on how to donate.
Spread the word! If you blog/tweet/FB help get the message out! Keep checking back for more information. There is a button on the top right, copy the code to add it as a badge to you blog.

I feel very blessed to have my family and friends safe, we are still getting aftershocks, as I type in fact. I hope everyone reading this has managed to contact their loved ones. I have to thank everyone who contacted me one way or another, knowing that we are in your thoughts means a great deal to me.

  14. I have a question that I wish anybody will answer to.
What kind of "proof of payment" is valid? Is it OK if the bid winner forwards us the e-mail receipt which s/he received from Global Giving ? Or the proof should be sent by fax?? (I do not have fax, though.)

  15. I would love to help. I'm not able to right-click anything on your blog, so I can't grab your button or even the picture to add a link to. Or open the links in new tabs.

May I add that I am very, very glad you are safe. My heart is breaking for Japan.
