At lunch at the Montessori farm, A-kun was talking about their new ipad and that he had discovered the game 'angry birds' but he then went on to say that his mommy said that he wasn't allowed to play it. Ebi-kun in his wisdom advised A-kun to wait until him mommy was asleep then he could sneak downstairs and play it!
I was shocked!
My son is a devious little sneak!
I wonder where he gets that from?
Nevermind. My four year olds a thief.
ReplyDeleteMy four year old came home from Montessori school with a whole story book that he had drawn describing various angry bird episodes. Yes, I let him play the game. Yes, I feel like a bad parent.
ReplyDeleteMy four year old came home from Montessori school with a whole booklet of stapled together pages describing various angry bird levels, even integrating his school friends in the story.

My 5 year old can't keep his hands off his aunty's iphone when she comes to visit. He loves the silly game and would play it all day if we let him! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow...
ReplyDeleteI think the sneaky thing shows that he has realised that adults have an authority over children - but also that he understands that this authority is only there when they are around to enforce it. This is healthy and normal. Now the key is to facilitate his understanding of choosing to do the right thing, even when nobody is there to see! We have this dicussion regularly in our house...I often wonder to what effect!
