A general round up of some of the things we have been up to. Road chalk has to be the number 1 summer 'toy' this year, the front of our house is constantly covered with doodles and pictures, scribbles and maths! He asks me to make up sums for him then he uses some stones from the garden to help calculate the answers. I make the numbers simple because we haven't covered carrying over yet.
He has been busy making a continent poster, it is almost finished, we will probably finish the last bit today (especially since we are going to be housebound, the weather is awful).Parts of a frog, he has recently taken to getting out the animal/plant puzzles again, I can see some extension work coming up soon with those.
An oldie but a goodie, I'm not sure how much longer this cube is going to hold up. He often gets frustrated doing this work but the last few times he has stuck with it until he has got all the marbles on the tees.
And like every kid, we have been collecting acorns (and putting them in my bag, more than once I have pulled out my purse to pay for something and a pile of acorns have flown across the counter, I should change my name to Totoro). This was one of those times when I wasn't really paying attention to what he was asking, the conversation went something like this...
Ebi-kun: Mommy, trees are made of wood aren't they?
Me: yes
Ebi-kun:acorns come from trees don't they?
Me: yes
Ebi-kun: you need wood glue, the one in the yellow bottle to stick wood don't you?
Me: yes
10 minutes later I went to see what he was doing, he had got out the wood glue and was sticking the hats back onto the acorns and drawing faces on them! At least he hadn't decided to stick them to his chair or something.

Honestly, if I had a child, I'd send him/her to your home school, I don't remember having so much fun in school.
